Charles River Medical Associates, with over 75 compassionate providers providing leading-edge clinical care, offers high-quality service at 15 locations spread across 9 MetroWest communities. Our Diagnostic Imaging centers in Framingham and Marlborough offer CT, Digital X-Ray, 3D Mammography, Ultrasound, Bone Density, Nuclear Medicine, as well as other various Cardiology exams.
Under the general supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Radiology Tech Aide provides exceptional hands-on patient care to patients of all ages, is responsible for performing Bone Density exams (training and certification provided), and performs support tasks and clerical duties as needed in the Radiology Department. This benefits-eligible position will be 24 hours; Monday-Thursday 9a-3:30p.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
This role incorporates the technical skills associated with performing Bone Density exams and related clerical duties, technologist support, front desk support, and patient care support functions such as:
- Rooming patients, obtaining and reviewing patient’s clinical history, phone calls to patients
- Obtaining and reviewing patient’s clinical history and related patient’s test reports. Obtaining pertinent medical history, instructing patient regarding exam procedures and preparation
- Maintaining exam suites in good and appropriate order and checking inventory routinely
- Performing related clerical duties, i.e., scheduling patients, preparing requisitions, retrieving reports, entering patient information, making phone calls to patients and physician offices
- Front desk support (as needed) duties include: checking in patients, answering phone calls, scanning documents, etc.
Qualifications:
- Radiology or medical office experience required
- College degree preferred
- Must maintain all required continuing education credits and certification during employment. Training will be provided for Bone Densitometry Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification will be required. Training will be provided as necessary
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Effective communications skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Normal or corrected vision and hearing for safe interaction with staff and patients
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced imaging center
- Constant walking and standing with intermittent lifting and positioning of patients
- Patient care responsibilities can lead to exposure to blood and human waste
- Failure to follow safety guidelines could result in exposure to ionizing radiation
- Periodic exposure to noise and a cold environment
