ENDOSCOPY SECRETARY/RECEPTIONIST Permanent 24 hour position Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (no weekends/no holidays)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Nursing
Responsible for patient reception, daily schedule maintenance, booking appointments, telephone triage and general office functions in a fast-paced medical procedure office.
This position requires excellent organizational skills and time management. It is a desk job that essentially involves sitting, standing, stooping, and walking as well as an inordinate amount of typing and patient interaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude.
Check patients in and accurately verify demographics and insurance.
Update electronic medical records and process confidentially and
efficiently.
Update and manage schedules daily including rescheduling
procedures as necessary using three computer systems and
communicating changes to staff.
Accurately schedule patient procedures with exceptional detail and
confidentiality using a predetermined questionnaire.
Answer phone calls in a professional manner and direct calls to
appropriate staff members.
Occasionally, walk patients to the lobby after procedures.
Perform other duties or related work as necessary or assigned.
Demonstrates courteous, professional, and cooperative behavior
toward patients, visitors, coworkers, supervisors, nurses, physicians,
and other offices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Being a positive, professional face of the office; greeting patients in a
warm and friendly manner. You are the patient’s first impression of
our facility.
Demonstrating good interpersonal skills, teamwork and a positive
attitude is a must. You will be working in a very busy procedure office.
Previous experience as a receptionist/secretary a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient typing skills, minimum 50 wpm.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment, ex. copying
machine, scanners, etc.
Ability to update electronic medical records and process information
confidentially and efficiently.
